Pssstttt! Hey, you! Yes, you. The one on the couch snacking on trail mix and catching the tail end of Wheel of Fortune. Isn’t it about time you kicked your booty into high gear? I wouldn’t want to interrupt that riveting word scramble you’re trying to solve… What’s that it spells? COUCH POTATO?
Looks to me like you’re in a workout slump. The gym, with its gleaming windows and state-of-the-art facilities? It’s lost its luster. And, let’s not even get started on that yoga mat of yours, which obviously just couldn’t handle another down dog…right?!
Truth be told, I was there just a little bit ago. I came up with every excuse in the book as to why I couldn’t make it to the gym before work. Or, after work. Or, anytime, for that matter. That is until I was introduced to Benner Fit, a new circuit workout program designed by Sydney Benner, geared for on-the-go guys and gals like you and me who could use the support of a B.F.F. to motivate your workout routine. And, the best part? Her YouTube channel can be found right on your phone or computer so you can literally take your bestie with you wherever you go. And, rumor has it an app is in the works. Genius!
Full disclosure: Sydney and I danced in college together and rekindled our friendship this spring over our mutual love of blogging, healthy cooking and fitness. She challenged me to take the 30 day Benner Fit Challenge as a means to feel motivated, strong and dare I say – sexy – again. Yes, this Stella got her groove back.
So, now, I’m challenging you. Take on the 30 Day Benner Fit Challenge by committing yourself to complete one of Syd’s circuit workouts a few times per week. Then, mix in your usual routines to keep it interesting. It’s so simple. Take a look at what I was able to do in my very first week:
DAY TWO: I mounted the treadmill for a 12 minute Tabata workout, then took over the group fitness area at the gym on off hours to dance my heart out in Circuit 45 a.k.a. the 50 Shades of Grey Workout. I’ll admit. It was a little risky doing this one in public!
DAY THREE: Ran 3 miles, then took on Circuit 3 in my living room. And, decided to do 3 planks for a minute each. Three was my lucky number.
I’m feeling great and have found that Syd’s 10 minute routines are motivating and heart-pumping. She’s an amazing instructor with such an upbeat attitude and approach to fitness. Are you ready to take the challenge? Join me! Leave a comment below and let me know how it goes!
